DIY Spring Tulle Wreath

April 17, 2014 by Megan 19 Comments

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

I love seeing the new life that comes forth in spring. It’s a great reminder of the new life we’ve been given in Christ. I also love doing new projects in the spring.
spring tulle wreath with initial

For this project you will need:
-a wire wreath frame
-3-6 rolls of tulle in spring colors (amount of tulle needed depends on the how thick you make the wreath)
-wooden embellishment (I chose to use a wooden H, our last name initial, but you could use a spring sign, a cross, flowers, etc.)
supplies for tulle wreath: tulle, wire wreath, wooden initial

1. Cut your tulle. I use a cardboard piece to help me cut. Each piece is 8 inches by 2 inches.

2. I put the tulle on the innermost ring and the 3rd ring from the middle. To put the tulle on the wreath, you fold the piece in half and create a loop that you feed the end through. For my wreath, I alternated pink/purple, purple/blue, blue/pink. You can do your wreath in a single color, two colors, or more. You can also double them up like I did or do each color by itself.

3.  After filling your wreath with tulle, decide where you want to put your embellishment. I chose to put my H in the middle, so I used some nails and wire to make it “float” in the middle. If you want it on the wreath, you could still use wire or depending on the weight, you could use hot glue.

4. Hang your adorable new wreath on your door and welcome spring.

Cute! I love the tulle! I use it to make tutu’s, but I wouldn’t have thought to use it for a wreath.

I really like how you used the wire wreath form for that specific look. I’ve made tulle wreaths with a styrofoam form, but this is different and really pretty!
